COVID-19 Response
The safety and well-being of our scholars, families, and staff is the Ladies of Favor Dream Academy's top priority. We are continuously following the information and guidance provided by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as the Department of Public Health.
Ladies of Favor Dream Academy is making sure certain precautions are put in place to monitor the health of all scholars, staff, and families. Please see an outline below as to what measures are in place regarding COVID-19.
Entrance Health Screenings
-
Curbside Service will be implemented to minimize the number of individuals entering the school.
-
All individuals will have his/her temperature taken prior to entering the school and throughout the day.*
-
Individuals will sanitize hands and proceed to designated area.
-
Please notify School Personnel if your child or a member of your household has any of the following symptoms:
-
Fever
-
Cough
-
Shortness of Breath
If your child, a member of your household, or you have been diagnosed with or exposed to Coronavirus, please notify the School immediately. This includes if your place of employment is closed due to a positive or presumptive positive case. Please also notify us if your child or a family member exhibits any respiratory symptoms.
The CDC continues to emphasize the risk of any illness is reduced with proper handwashing, staying away from others who are ill, and if you are ill, staying home until you are symptom free for 24 hours.
Protective Wear & Supplies
Ladies of Favor Dream Academy will provide masks (cloth face coverings) and gloves as needed. Other adequate supplies include soap, hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol, paper towels, tissues, disinfectant wipes, and no-touch/foot-pedal trash cans.
We will teach and reinforce the use of cloth face coverings. Face coverings may be challenging for students (especially younger students) to wear in all-day. Face coverings should be worn by staff and students (particularly older students) as feasible, and are most essential in times when physical distancing is difficult. Individuals will be frequently reminded not to touch the face covering and to wash their hands frequently. Information will be provided to staff, students, and families on proper use, removal, and washing of cloth face coverings.
Cleaning and Disinfecting
Ladies of Favor Dream Academy will follow the CDC and local health agency recommendations for cleaning and disinfecting the building. We have reviewed our cleanliness protocol and standards with our staff which include handwashing, disinfecting/sanitizing equipment, and proper use of gloves.
Prevention
Ladies of Favor Dream Academy will continue to implement CDC recommendations to prevent infection for scholars and staff, which include:
-
Washing Hands Often: Students and staff will wash hands using soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds frequently throughout the day.
-
Avoiding close contact. We will implement social distance which includes being 6ft. apart.
-
Avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth.
-
Staying home when you are sick.
-
Practicing proper cough and sneeze etiquette: Cough or sneeze into a disposable tissue, discard and properly wash and sanitize your hands. If tissue is not available, cough or sneeze into your elbow and immediately wash and sanitize exposed areas.
-
Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces.
-
Teachers and staff will continue to be trained on the enhanced precautions and preventative measures for health and safety.
Health & Safety Learning Activities
We are working hard to maintain a safe learning environment for all students and staff by continuously educating students and staff about the importance of frequent hand washing; proper techniques for covering a cough or sneeze; not touching one’s eyes, nose, and mouth; staying home when ill, and other measures to prevent the spread of all communicable diseases.
Communication & Additional Information
-
We will post signs in highly visible locations (e.g., school entrances, restrooms) that promote everyday protective measures and describe how to stop the spread of germs.
We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as often as necessary. Thanks in advance for working with us to keep all our students and staff healthy and safe.
